U.S. Navy Band Southeast VIP Combo

Established in 1995, Navy Band Southeast is one of 11 official U.S. Navy Bands. Proudly representing the Commander, Navy Region Southeast, the band consists of thoroughly trained professional musicians dedicated to the highest levels of musical performance. Excelling in versatility, the band or any of its various sub-groups are perfect for a wide variety of musical settings including military ceremonies, public concerts, parades and much more. Inspiring pride and patriotism through music, this incredibly popular unit performs more than 500 engagements annually throughout the Southeastern United States.

John DePaola Quintet

John DePaola is a freelance trumpeter in Orlando, Florida. His style of jazz improvisation radiates warmth and is complimented by his ability to create melodic solos. He performs regularly at jazz societies and varied venues in central and southern Florida. John is a strong believer in the value of America's only true art form - Jazz Music.

The Ray Guiser Quartet

A native of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Ray Guiser began playing saxophone at age eight. After attending Berklee College of Music and West Virginia University, Ray move to Washington D.C .and eventually the New Smyrna/Daytona Beach area. Touring with Grammy Award winning, trumpeter/vocalist, Phil Driscoll and Les Brown and his Band of Renown are just a couple of the highlights of Ray’s 50+ year career. The Quartet includes Ray on soprano sax & alto sax, Bruce Scott on alto sax, Paul Ricci on tenor sax and Dennis Scaccia, baritone sax.

Time Out offers a unique blend of talent, personality and humour to create a TimeOutDuoPostermemorable entertainment experience. They are first class entertainers on the hotel, club and corporate function venue circuits. A repertoire ranging from classical instrumentals, jazz, cocktail, latin, soul, groove, disco and contemporary styles, makes them an asset at all venues and events.

RENDERGLOW is a dynamic, interactive musical group based out of Orlando, Florida that combines elements of funk, pop, reggae, latin, jazz and dance into an intoxicating brew that is funky and fresh. Founder Greg Little plays trumpet, sings and incorporates the rare EVI (Electric Valve Instrument) while Chris Davis on Keyboards and vocals utilizes the classic vocoder in surprisingly creative ways. For festivals and larger venues, add the intense and always exciting Bobby Koelble on Guitar. With groovy and sensitive Ezra Henry on drums and the driving yet flexible Jon Warcholak on bass, Renderglow has built a compelling new sound. Since 2012, they have played to enthusiastic crowds at clubs, festivals and corporate gigs.

Johnny Magnuson, known around central Florida as Johnny “Mag Sax” was born in Rochester, New York in 1972. After relocating to Illinois, Johnny went to high school in Jacksonville, Illinois where his love for jazz and blues began while playing the saxophone in the Jacksonville High School band. Johnny went on to attend Western Illinois University, with a major in Music Performance and was a member of the R.O.T.C. (Reserve Officers Training Course), which offered him the opportunity to join an elite group of musicians in the United States Army Band.

Vivacity is a high- energy and versatile group featuring stellar musicians and the original dance band instrument- the xylophone! Based in Orlando, Florida, the band was formed in 2007 to perform for swing dances and resort entertainment. Today, they can be heard entertaining for audiences of all ages at community events, parties, theatres, dances and conventions. The band has a unique neo-vaudeville sound with strong roots in New Orleans music. Vivacity boasts an extensive songlist of original arrangements of music from the 1920s to the Great American Songbook and beyond. Vivacity will help design the perfect entertainment for your event- from a Roarin’ 20s Great Gatsby dance party to the office holiday gathering and everything in between! This band brings an exhilarating energy to any event! UCF Jazz Workshop W/ Davonda Simmons

DaVonda Simmons is a dynamic vocalist who has been dazzling audiences for years with her “drop dead gorgeous voice”. One who evokes a smile in your heart and caresses you with the radiant warmth of her style. Her vocal artistry and commanding stage presence colors any performance with enthusiasm and elegance. Whether it’s sultry jazz, Broadway melodies, finger snapping R&B, or the latest hits, her vocal mastery transcends artistic mediums with sophistication and heartfelt emotion. “My words cannot do justice to the reality of watching her move on stage – of hearing her phenomenal vocal instrument – or of being touched by the acting expertise she renders in her vocal styling." “She has an unbelievable voice, a great stage presence, and she is a delight to work with. Orlando Sanchez

Jazz, Pop music, Salsa, Calypso with the renowned Steel Band, Arab and Spanish fusions among others, are not unknown to the Puerto Rican percussionist Orlando Sánchez. The musician, who emigrated at the age of 29 to the United States overcoming his shyness and breaking stereotypes, has stood out for more than 20 years in the contribution to Latin music, collaborating and sharing stages with the best exponents of the music of the world.

The Conglomerate

“…It became clear that these guys were on a mission to funk. With one initial kick of the bass drum, the outdoor patio had been instantly transformed into a massive dance party that had every aggie out there grooving and moving…” – The Battalion. “The Conglomerate,” an explosive 6- piece Funk band from College Station, Texas has been dishing out invigorating, high-energy sets since May 2010. The group began as a collection of musicians who met through a common passion for jazz. After a period of experimentation, blending jazz principles with funk and rock influences, the members finally found the fresh, exciting sound they had been looking for and The Conglomerate was born. Complete with fat horn lines and vocals, captivating solos, and rock solid beats, The Conglomerate has a trademark sound that everyone can get into.

David Capp has been a professional saxophone player in Orlando for 20 years. He plays tenor, alto, soprano and bari saxophones in Jazz, Rock, R&B, Latin and contemporary church bands. In addition to his variety/blues/jazz combo, "The Dave Capp Project," he plays with other groups around Central Florida. He has played at all the major theme parks, House of Blues at Disney, the College Park Jazz Festival, The New Smyrna Beach Jazz Festival, Leu Gardens, the Ritz Carlton and other venues around Florida. Favorite gigs include playing with Mary Wilson & the Supremes at the Ritz Carlton and with the Italian Swing band, "Viva Venezia," at Disney. He currently plays in the BLUES BROTHERS show at Universal Studios.

The beautiful Caribbean Islands of Trinidad and Tobago are the birthplace of the steel drum. With over 30 years experience we have performed in the Metro Orlando and surrounding areas. Born and raised in New Orleans Sybil Gage had front row schooling in what makes that city great. Now living in Florida, Sybil is spreading New Orleans music to the rest of the world. The “Little Dynamo” is slinky in sequins, and funky in fishnets and has become the darling of the East Coast. Gage has 2 outstanding CD’s of original material. THE RIGHT STUFF is an Orlando-based jazz band led by drummer Ron Cangro with Jarvis Brown on the keyboard, Gerald Stockton on bass guitar, Doug Spoonamore on saxophone and Suzy Park singing lead vocals. THE RIGHT STUFF plays a wide variety of classic and modern jazz along with upbeat blues, latin, funk and pop songs along with originals of their own. As a former Orlando resident, I’m very familiar with the high level of musical talent that town has to offer. Thus it was no surprise that this record grooved me, moved me, and made me smile! Joshua Mark Bowlus grew up in Port Orange, FL and was the oldest child of three. As a young child, every time he saw a piano he would run up to it and bang on the keys. Acknowledging his obvious attraction to the instrument, Joshua's parents started their young child out on the Suzuki method with private lessons at home around age 5. Joshua continued to train classically throughout his childhood and teenage years through private lessons at Stetson University until he began high school. He credits both his high school band director Andrew Kidd and local jazz pianist/teacher Harold Blanchard for sparking his interest in jazz. Noticing his strong passion and dedication to this American art form, his teachers and peers awarded him with the prestigious Louis Armstrong Jazz Award upon graduation. Starting in 2002, Bowlus continued his jazz education at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, studying under pianists Kevin Bales & Keith Javors. The head of UNF jazz and extraordinary alto saxophonist Bunky Green served as Joshua’s primary mentor through his later years in college. Since graduating from UNF in 2006, he has built his career as a jazz pianist while residing in Jacksonville, acting as both a bandleader for his own groups as well as a sideman for various other groups.

Trumpeter/Composer Scott Dickinson holds degrees in jazz performance and composition from the University of North Florida, Depaul University, and the University of Miami. As a performer, Scott has had the opportunity to share the stage with major artists such as Michael Feinstein, Larry Coryell, Alphonse Mouzon, and Mason Bates. He has also been a finalist in several performance competitions including the National Trumpet Competition, The International Trumpet Guild Competition, and the Chicago Union League Jazz Competition. Some of the many venues Scott has performed at include New York's Smoke, Chicago's Green Mill Cocktail Lounge, as well as jazz festivals in Jacksonville, Chicago, France, The Netherlands, Switzerland, and China. Scott is a member of the Dr. Phillips Jazz Orchestra.

Ron Teixeira Trio

Teixeira is a graduate of the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston. After graduating, he played for more than 20 years at jazz venues and as a studio musician in New York City. He returned to his hometown of Cocoa Beach and has been the house pianist at the nationally award winning Heidi’s Jazz Club in Cocoa Beach, FL for the past 17 years. He is also a member of the DanRonic Project which performed on the Jazz Society’s stage in October 2018 and he teaches jazz. Bass player Al Dodds has both a Bachelor and a Master degree in music from the University of North Texas and drummer Stan Soloko has performed on cruise ships for many years and is a local favorite.

Doug Spoonamore

Born in Missouri, but raised in IIlinois, Doug started playing saxophone his freshman year of high school. After briefly attending the Dick Grove School of music in Los Angeles studying composing and arranging, he found steady work on cruise ships. He moved to Orlando in 1998 and started working in the Main Street Saxophone Quartet at Walt Disney World. During this time, he also moonlighted playing in various bands doing corporate and wedding gigs. Doug had the opportunity to play with The Temptations, The O’Jays and other groups from the Motown era. He also recorded albums along side Stanley Clarke and Larry Carlton.

La Lucha is a Tampa Bay based trio that consists of three best friends from three different parts of the world; Colombia, Mexico & United States. Its members are Alejandro Arenas, bass; John O’Leary, piano; and Mark Feinman, drums. Their repertoire is a diverse mixture of Latin inspired rhythms with Jazz standards, twisted arrangements of pop songs and original compositions. Each member of the trio has extensive national and international performance experience, including a tour of Italy and France with performances at the “Umbria Jazz Festival” and “Jazz a Juan” in Juan Les Pins. La Lucha aims to create music that transcends genres and classifications. They consider music to be live art, which will continue to breathe, grow and evolve with their commitment to it. La Lucha was awarded Creative Loafing’s “Best of the Bay Jazz Ensemble” in 2013, 2014 & 2015; the “Think Small to Think Big Grant,” by Creative Pinellas; featured presenters at TEDxTampa Bay (2014) & TEDxUSF (2015); and were recently honored by a grant from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, to present a multi- media project raising awareness for Alzheimer’s disease. Their debut album, “A Cup of Fuzzy Water” was released in 2009 and their second self-titled album was released in June 2012. Their third album, “Standards, Not-Standards,” featuring vocalist Jun, was released January, 6th 2015 on Blue Line Music.

Airtight feat. Marc Clermont

Airtight consists of local musicians from Albion and Jackson with over 40 years of musical experience with band members that have traveled the world performing the hottest cover songs. Currently, Airtight has been together for over 6 years moving and grooving together performing a variety of different genres of music. They’re known for their renditions of Jazz, Blues, Motown, and R&B music. Band members consist of: Guitarist John White, drummer Richard Pinard, base player Kipp Larson, keyboardist Phillip Ragland, percussionist and lead vocalist Jeff Thomas, and lead vocalist Taneka Thomas.
